Does education currently offer students the chance to explore fully the interconnectedness of their lives and the lives of others around the world?
Peter, a parent, thinks more needs to be done to ensure young people’s education allows them to develop an understanding that the choices they make have an impact on the lives of others. In this short film, he argues that children should learn from an early age that we live on a shared planet so that this understanding helps shape how they choose to live.
This short film is part of a series commissioned by The Harmony Project. Produced by filmmaker Jason Taylor at The Source Image, this collection of films highlights what parents, teachers and students have to say about how education can best equip our young people to engage with issues of sustainability. By making their voices heard, we hope to move forward the conversation about the role education should play in preparing students today to lead on the environmental issues they will face tomorrow.
